Mess is more.

By the madness which interrupts it, a work of art
opens a void, a moment of silence, a question
without answer, provokes a breach without
reconciliation where the world is forced to
          question itself.

America Please don't Frighten Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman inspired my generation of little girls to do it all. Save the world, fall in love. But don't forget she came from a pagan community with Greek roots caught out of time in the "Devil's Triangle." No surprise that she would worry about Palin's conservative Christian appeals. In an interview with a reporter from Philadelphia Magazine Linda Carter was asked about comparisons of Palin to the Wonder Woman character:

"She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives," Carter added. "And a superior religious self-righteousness … that’s just not what Wonder Woman is about. Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin. She did it all, didn’t she?"

Carter said that it was "anti-American" to try to force religious views on others.

"I like John McCain," Carter said. "But this woman — it's anathema to me what she stands for. I think America should be very afraid. Very afraid. Separation of church and state is the one thing the creators of the Constitution did agree on — that it wasn’t to be a religious government. People should feel free to speak their minds about religion but not dictate it or put it into law."

Go figure, Wonder Woman is way more articulate than Palin too.

I like it black. I'm a purist. No cream or sugar. I occasionally do cappucino or latte, but that is another experience. Every morning black brewed or Americano helps me ease through the shock of waking. (gone 3 minutes) I've just zoned out on the coffee smell. I love Sarah Vaughn singing "Black Coffee." I named my dogs for coffee drinks. What will I do when the world suffers nuclear winter and the global markets disintegrate. What will I do when the world as I know it ends. Will the sixth rider of the Aplocalypse come riding in with a thermos of java for me? Can I grow coffee in my back yard?

I mostly like the idea. Always in general sometimes in specific. Today I like where I work because of the bricks. Because Cathy brought a voter registration form for Jason and promised to drive him to the polls. In his thirty years this black man has never voted and he said this is the first time he felt it matters. Because some depend on me. Because it is not a bad work to do. Because Marta will take one of our kitties when it is old enough. I wonder sometimes where this will all end. Maybe a layoff. My best guess is a long nap and back to work the next day--no real ending. That would be ok too.

It snowed about 5 inches around my house overnight.

The thing I hate about snow: it is cold and wet.

It keeps spring at a distance.

It gets dingy.

It is slippery. Soggy. Messy.

It gets in my car. I have to clear it from my car.

I hate it most when it touches my skin.
